Mentioned in Job 40:15-24 origin, Behemoth is a creature said to be the “primitive invincible monster of the earth” in the later Jewish writings. The word itself still has a place in today’s language as a verb used to describe the size and the huge and great power. With this one, it is far from difficult to understand the nature of the beast described as the demon of lust and greed in some texts, the Behemoth is known for its huge teeth and sharp claws.
Emerging from an ancient Egyptian myth, the Phoenix is a majestic bird with a close relationship with fire. Typically portrayed as having gold and red feathers, it is said that Phoenix is not only born of fire, but later decides to end his years of existence of 500-1461 Similarly, the construction of a nest where it then passes to ignite. Once destroyed a young Phoenix will then rise from the ashes, or if it is written.
Known for its unmistakable characteristics and physical appearance, the Minotaur comes from Greek mythology and said to possess the upper body of a bull and the lower body of a man. He lived in the center of a vast maze built especially for him by King Minos of Crete and was killed by Theseus, the founder king of Athens.
Another ancient Greek mythology, the Centaurs were a race said to possess similar attributes to both man and horse. This mixture has caused much internal conflict, with a half-human wanting to be a grown doing battle on a regular basis with the animal instincts of noise disinterested way, violence, alcohol and other various primal urges. To be honest, I think they look like a cool job.
The equivalent Seas Behemoth, the roots too are behemoths in the biblical texts. A beast of unfathomable size, Leviathan was said to have glowing, intensely cryptic eyes and a tendency to cause a lot of havoc on the sea of his time. Although mentioned in the Old Testament, it is unclear whether the beast was created by God or Satan.
The classic character on this list, the dragons took place in popular mythology since a very long time. Which dates back at least 4,000 years, the history of the dragon is a vibrant and poetic. The animals still hold much importance in cultures around the world today, particularly in China, where they are a symbol of heroism and are designated as protectors of the just and noble. Pretty cool stuff.
Yet another Greek incarnation, Pegasus was said to be the son of Poseidon, god of the seas and the monster snake-haired Medusa. Usually depicted as a beautiful winged horse-there are many interpretation of the birth of Pegasus. While there are many representations from its birth, which documents jumping to his neck of Medusa on the departure of his head in his hands the great hero Perseus, is definitely my favorite. Pegasus has been represented in countless works of art over the last century and even has its own constellation, offered by Zeus after his death.
A many-headed serpent like creature, hydra had a deadly poison and the taste of human flesh. Taking their roots largely in the most famous of its kind Greek mythology was known only as the “Hydra”, unsurprisingly with a choice of local house Hydra Greece, especially the vast marshes that are contained. The reason for this was his glory Hydra death at the hands of the great hero Hercules. Legend has it that Hercules was able to defeat the beast by designing a technique that was cauterized the stump after removal of the head of a process that rejected regrowth.

According to legend, unicorns can not be captured only by young girls in the forest. Unicorn tradition dates back thousands of years, and casual “observations” are still reported today.
The first place goes now to the Cyclops, the famous guys eyes enjoy a relatively high reputation thanks to their various different representations throughout history. Once again find their roots in Greek history, the Cyclops (plural of Cyclops) were then interpreted in Roman mythology in the same vein. Covered in the works of Hesiod, Callimachus, Theocritus and Euripides (literally) just to name a few there are many stories attributed to this not-quite-as-horrible-as-some-of-the-other creatures.
